We launched our synchro part of the club in February 2014, with the help of the then G.B Synchronised team.

At the World Down Syndrome Championships in Italy in 2012, Synchronised swimming was introduced in competition for the first time. The idea came to Pauline that as The Electric Eels already was a club for people with Down Syndrome why not introduce synchro. Having known The Reading Royals Synchronised Swimming Club for many years, she mentioned her idea to Di Hughes who is a synchro coach and ASA competitive judge. She was really interested and said she would help on Saturday evenings, and bring some synchro volunteers to help in the water. This part of the club runs straight after the swimming part of the club from 6.30-7.00pm at the moment.

As we are the only club of this kind in the country the aim is to take a team who would represent G.B to the World Championships in 2016. If you are interested in joining this part of the club please contact Pauline Walker Director of Swimming.

We have now achieved our aim and this July I am taking two of our young ladies out to Italy to represent G.B. They will compete in the Duet Team. Good luck Molly and Vivian.
